As a Level 3 Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) practitioner with 28 years of experience in bodywork, I’ve developed a unique program that combines NKT with release techniques, movement integration, Pilates, and core strengthening. After years of working as a bodywork therapist, I realized the power of NKT in healing and movement correction, so I created a program that specifically targets the root causes of pain and dysfunction. My goal is to help women feel better in their bodies by empowering them to reclaim their strength and mobility while reducing the pain that has been holding them back. I want to help you become the person you are meant to be—strong, mobile, and free from the limitations caused by surgery and pain.
Abdominal surgeries, such as C-sections, hysterectomies, and others, can have lasting effects on your body, even years after the procedure. Many women don’t realize that scar tissue from these surgeries can disrupt movement, cause pain, and affect overall posture. Scar tissue forms as part of the healing process, but it can restrict movement, create imbalances, and lead to discomfort that lingers long after recovery.
When scar tissue develops, it can tighten the surrounding muscles, forcing your body to compensate for the lack of movement. This altered movement pattern often leads to chronic pain, poor posture, and limited mobility. While massage therapy can offer temporary relief, it’s often not enough to address the deeper causes of the pain and dysfunction. On the other hand, rushing into intense workouts too soon can strain the body and worsen the situation. The key is finding a balanced approach that allows you to heal while preparing for more active challenges down the line. I offer this balance in treatment at Create Peace Functional Movement Institute.
My Restorative Bodywork approach combines manual release techniques, movement integration, Pilates, and core strengthening to address the root causes of your pain and movement restrictions. This holistic method will help you restore natural movement, relieve discomfort, and regain your strength.
If you’re ready to take the first step toward lasting recovery, I invite you to book your first session today. Let’s work together to reclaim your body and empower you to feel your best.
Identifying problematic scar tissue is just one factor in the healing process. Finding the balance between recovery and fitness is key. In our next article, we’ll discuss how to bridge that gap and prepare your body for regular fitness challenges.
